Position is located at Pasquotank Correctional Institution in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Pasquotank Correctional Institution is a facility housing minimum/close custody male inmates. Position performs as a Supervisor to Correctional Food Service Officers as they work in a close custody facility and provides supervision and custody of inmates assigned to work in a large-scale food service production within a correctional facility. Work requires a dual role of custody and food production training. Work also includes but is not limited to maintaining standards of sanitation in all areas of the kitchen, and proper food storage responsibilities. Responsible for planning and conducting food preparation and food service, but duties may include food procurement and food storage, housekeeping and other responsibilities of food service management. Work is subject to review by a Food Service Director or other Administrative superior through inspections and evaluation of reports for efficiency and sanitation.
“As of January 1, 2025, there are new increase adjustments to the state’s pay plans which were approved by the State Human Resources Commission, effective January 1, 2025. The new salary range(s) will be $41,655 - $72,897.” Prior applicants will remain under consideration and do not need to reapply.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits .

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in institutional food preparation and food services, in management of a commercial food service operations, or as a Correctional Officer, or three years as a Correctional Food Service Officer; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualifications Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
