The position is located at Pasquotank Correctional Institution in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. This facility houses minimum/close custody male inmates. The role involves supervising Correctional Food Service Officers working in a close custody environment, overseeing inmate work in large-scale food production, and ensuring sanitation and proper food storage standards are maintained. Responsibilities include planning and conducting food preparation and service, procurement, storage, housekeeping, and food service management. The work is reviewed by a Food Service Director or other supervisor through inspections and reports.
Effective January 1, 2025, new salary adjustments increase the range to $41,655 - $72,897. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with State Benefits. Applicants must document knowledge of large-scale food production, supervision of staff or inmates, and meet educational and experience criteria: a high school diploma or GED, four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination. Certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards is required.
