Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Food Service Officer to supervise detainees and oversee food service activities in a correctional setting. You will ensure proper food preparation, sanitation, and adherence to facility rules and GEO policies.

You will coordinate inmate movements, assist in emergency responses, and maintain logs while upholding safety and security standards. The role requires flexibility for overtime and the ability to work extended shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service activities; commercial or institutional meal prep preferred.
• Ability to work overtime and handle physical/mental stress.
• Must be able to report to work reliably and work up to 16 hours in a rolling 24-hour period.

Responsibilities

• Supervise detainees assigned to Food Services and oversee food prep, cleanup, and sanitation.
• Coordinate inmate movements, conduct counts, and provide emergency responses as needed.
• Initiate disciplinary reports and maintain daily logs; assist inmates in case of injury or trauma.
