Hall County Government in Gainesville, GA is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician II - Correctional Officer to oversee inmate work crews performing carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and painting across county facilities.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, preventative tasks, and adherence to safety. Requires high school diploma or GED, 3 years carpentry/building maintenance, and a valid Class C driver's license; POST certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED. Ability to read and write.
• Three years carpentry and building maintenance experience.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the minimum level of qualifications stated above.
• Current P.O.S.T. Certification (or ability to qualify within 6 mo. of hire)
• Valid Class C Driver’s License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Knowledge of HVAC to include operations, maintenance,
• Knowledge of building maintenance, construction, equipment and materials.
• Knowledge of local building, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical codes.
• Skill in coordinating work activities.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Must have mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret building plans, specifications and blueprints.
• Ability to perform strenuous and routine manual work.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with County employees and outside contractors.

Responsabilités

• Landscape: supervise inmate crew for mowing, edging, and landscaping.
• HVAC: change filters, inspect belts, lubricate, and checklist checks.
• Electrical: replace interior/exterior bulbs, use lifts/scaffolding.
• Lighting: verify timers and photic controls.
• Plumbing: inspect fixtures for leaks.
• Seasonal: clean gutters and downspouts, check roof leaks.
• General: follow daily checklists and note deficiencies.
• Carpentry/Repairs: general repairs and light construction.
• Painting: repair office furniture.
• Forms, pours and finishes concrete.
• Replace doors/windows; repair roof leaks.
• Minor welding.
• Attendance and dependability.
• Work with county staff and contractors.
