Job summary

Wexford Health Sources, Omaha, NE, seeks an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for night-shift opportunities at the Douglas County Correctional Center. Pay rate ranges from $22-28/hr, with responsibilities in emergency and routine patient care within a secure healthcare setting.

The EMT will assess patients, document findings, render treatments per orders, perform screening and triage, and support the clinical team while maintaining thorough records.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited EMT or Paramedic training program.
• Current EMT or Paramedic license in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience preferred.
• Correctional healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducting patient assessments, obtaining medical histories and vital signs, and documenting findings in the medical record.
• Providing treatments and procedures in accordance with medical orders, EMT protocols, and scope of practice.
• Performing screening, triage, and basic life support while responding to routine and emergency medical needs.
• Assisting with infirmary admissions, discharges, and ongoing patient care activities.
• Supporting physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff in the delivery of patient care.
• Maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring patient conditions, and communicating changes to the healthcare team.
