Job summary

Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) seeks a certified Educational Teacher to design and deliver instructional programs for adults in the Education Programs and Community Reentry Division at ASPC Safford. You will teach multiple subjects, including potential Special Education services, and document progress weekly.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree or higher and a valid ADE Teaching Certificate in Elementary or Secondary.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Must possess a current, valid ADE Teaching Certificate in Elementary or Secondary.
• Background checks, TB test, and E-Verify compliance are required.

Responsibilities

• Teaches all subjects to students who have not completed full academic achievement, potentially through K-12; provides Special Education services when required.
• Implements teacher-designed lesson plans and coordinates with Special Education staff for student benefit.
• Assesses student progress and develops appropriate education plans.
• Maintains educational records and monthly work evaluations; tracks student performance for instructional decisions.
• Ensures security of testing instruments and supports classroom management.
• Teaches various subjects aligned with curriculum goals and creates a positive learning environment.
• Escorts and supervises inmates in the education building/classroom and participates in required trainings.
