Job summary

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office seeks qualified Corrections professionals for Correctional Deputy II. Starting salary up to $62.03/hour ($129,464/year) with a comprehensive benefits package. Multiple positions are available.

Candidates must have one year of experience as Correctional Deputy I or equivalent and pass BSCC/PELLETB or POST tests. This non-supervisory role reports to a Correctional Sergeant and requires overtime and shift work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required plus one year of correctional deputy I experience or equivalent.
• Passing BSCC Selection Examination or POST/PELLETB test per local requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security of a correctional facility.
• Supervise incarcerated individuals and respond to emergencies.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and restrain when necessary.
• Work mandatory overtime and all shifts.
• Report to a Correctional Sergeant and Field Training Officer.
