The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Correctional Managed Care unit provides general dental care to the offender population within prison facilities, under supervision with latitude for independent judgement.
Licensed Texas dentists perform duties following UTMB procedures and health service policies. Position may involve serving multiple facilities and requires security clearance.
The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.
Performs responsible general direct dental care services for the offender population of a correctional facility, in conformance with University procedures and Health Services policies. Works under supervision of the Cluster Dental Director with latitude for the exercise of independent judgement. May be required to provide dental services on multiple facilities.
Standard patient care supplies, equipment and mechanical devices.
Located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre‑employment drug testing is also required.
Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
