The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) seeks a Dentist to perform direct dental care for the offender population within a correctional facility, under the supervision of the Cluster Dental Director. May provide services at multiple facilities as needed.
Work occurs inside prisons/jails; a security clearance and pre-employment drug testing are required. Texas licensure, DEA registration, and BLS-HP are essential credentials for this role.
The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.
Performs responsible general direct dental care services for the offender population of a correctional facility, in conformance with University procedures and Health Services policies. Works under supervision of the Cluster Dental Director with latitude for the exercise of independent judgement. May be required to provide dental services on multiple facilities.
Standard patient care supplies, equipment and mechanical devices.
Located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
