Job summary

NaphCare is hiring experienced Dental Assistants to join our healthcare team at the Washoe County Jail in Reno, NV. Part-Time (16 hours/week) and PRN positions offer flexibility for experienced staff in a correctional setting.

Pay ranges from $20.90–$22.00 per hour. You will assist the Dentist, sterilize instruments, take X-rays, manage records, and educate patients in a safe, clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one or two-year dental assistant program at a vocational school or community college.
• Maintain the proper training and unrestricted certification as a Dental Assistant.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Be able to obtain CPR certification.
• Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
• Display integrity, professionalism and abide by the facility's policies and code of conduct.
• Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dentist with patient care, procedures, instruments, supplies, and documentation.
• Prepare patients for dental procedures and assist during treatment.
• Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment.
• Keep the dental suite clean, organized, and stocked.
• Assist with dental sick-call requests, triage, scheduling, and patient records.
• Educate patients on dental procedures and oral hygiene practices.
• Take and develop X-rays.
• Assist with dental laboratory functions and other admin duties.
