Job summary

NaphCare, Inc. is hiring experienced Dental Assistants for the Washoe County Jail in Reno, NV. We offer PRN positions with flexible shifts and competitive hourly pay of $20.90–$22.00.

As a Correctional Dental Assistant, you will support the Dentist and healthcare team in providing quality dental care in a structured clinical setting. Duties include prep, sterilization, records, X-rays, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one or two-year dental assistant program at a vocational school or community college.
• Maintain the proper training and unrestricted certification as a Dental Assistant.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Be able to obtain CPR certification.
• Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
• Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Dentist with patient care, procedures, instruments, supplies, and documentation.
• Preparing patients for dental procedures and assisting during treatment.
• Sterilizing and disinfecting dental instruments and equipment.
• Ensuring the dental suite is clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Assisting with dental sick-call requests, triage, scheduling, and patient records.
• Educating patients on dental procedures and oral hygiene practices.
• Taking and developing X-rays.
• Assisting with dental laboratory functions and other administrative duties as needed.
