Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
• One year of correctional officer experience required; two or more years preferred.
• Must be certified in Corrections through the FDLE and in good standing or meet FDLE eligibility guidelines to become certified.
• Must be available to work any hours, any shift.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age 18.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine duties of a Correctional Counselor as part of the Unit Management Team to resolve inmate issues.
• Ensure services and programs are delivered to inmates as designed.
• Maintain a caseload of inmates to resolve daily living issues before they escalate.
• Make daily rounds through units, observe operations, and ensure safety and security.
• Conduct one-on-one meetings with inmates regarding grievances and resolve within policy.
