Job summary

State of Indiana at Miami Correctional Facility seeks a Correctional Caseworker to coordinate case management, counsel incarcerated individuals, and support facility staff. The role ensures policy compliance and provides guidance on location, confinement, employment, parole opportunities, and external contacts.

A degree is not required; a high school diploma or equivalent and 1+ years in social work, corrections, or related field may qualify.

Qualifications

• Within 90 days of hire, obtain IRAS Certification.
• Must test negative on all drug screenings.
• Complete mandatory training including DOC Training Program, Case management training, First Aid, CPR.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling and information to incarcerated individuals.
• Coordinate with facility staff on re-entry and release issues.
• Act as liaison between employers, courts, community and agencies for job development.
• Create individualized case plans addressing risk and needs.
• Document interactions and progress during incarceration.
• Make classification recommendations for offenders.
