Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction's Eastern Correctional Institution is hiring a Correctional Case Manager (S) at NC07 to work in a housing unit within the custody area. This full-time role requires effective verbal and written communication with staff, inmates, and the public, and adherence to safety and security procedures.

Candidates should be prepared for a demanding environment, including potential exposure to violence, and must meet state requirements.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least an associate’s degree or equivalent experience as described.
• Ability to defend self and maintain safety in potentially violent environments.
• Proficient in preparing clear written reports and data documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain verbal and written communication with staff, offenders, and the general public.
• Conduct surveillance of the assigned housing unit and custody area.
• Accurately operate office machines and prepare written reports reflecting information from various sources.
• Instruct offenders in the proper safe use of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Review and analyze documents and behavioral data gathered from interviews and observations.
• Perform crisis intervention and routine counseling, including suicide prevention.
