Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction seeks a Correctional Case Analyst (NS) to work at Craven Correctional Institution in Vanceboro, NC. The role focuses on processing offenders, evaluating data, and recommending housing, custody, and program placements.

The position involves interpreting legal and medical information, following procedures, and providing supportive counseling as part of daily operations within a medium custody facility that houses about 850 offenders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and one year of experience in testing or interviewing, and/or counseling.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required for the role.
• Preferred: knowledge of analysis and interpretation and of policies related to offender custody and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret legal commitments/documents, medical data, psychological data, criminal history, social history, and other information to develop treatment plans for offenders.
• Comprehend and abide by policy, procedures, emergency plans, legal documents and directives governing daily activities.
• Perform routine supportive counseling and crisis intervention functions including suicide prevention and recognizing abnormal behavior.
