Job summary

NaphCare is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support inmates at the Arizona Department of Corrections - Yuma in Yuma, AZ. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, implementing treatment plans, and facilitating therapeutic activities under clinician supervision.

Pay ranges from $22.00 to $25.00 per hour, with compensation based on shift, site needs, and experience. A strong background in mental health care and current BLS CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Active BLS CPR certification required (American Heart Association).
• Current tuberculosis documentation required.
• Experience in mental health, psychiatric, or residential care setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and ability to work in high-stress environments.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Carry out behavior modification plans and crisis intervention as prescribed.
• Observe, record, and report patient behavior and symptoms to the treatment team.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Conduct safety checks and manage emergencies.
• Maintain detailed records of patient behavior and interactions.
• Provide emotional support and facilitate coping skills education for patients and families.
