Description of Work
This position is located at Piedmont Correctional Institution in Salisbury, N.C. (Rowan County), a medium-security male prison housing 800 inmates. Employees handle initial interviews and processing of new inmates, gathering socioeconomic, educational, and substance abuse information, explaining sentencing terms, and providing orientation on prison processes. Work includes data recording and maintaining inmate records.
Note: This is an anticipated vacancy, available starting 5/16/25.
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with State Benefits.
Applicants must pass a background check. The salary grade is NC02. Current state employees are encouraged to apply; salary will be recalculated based on education, experience, and internal equity, possibly resulting in a pay increase.
Effective January 1, 2025, salary ranges are $31,200 - $49,340.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of computers and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and have Human Services or Correctional experience.
