Job summary

Cascadia Health in Portland, OR seeks an Addiction and Recovery Counselor II to deliver SUD services at The Columbia River Correctional Institution. You will assess, plan, and provide individual therapy within the Turning Point Program, applying CBT and Motivational Interviewing to support long-term recovery.

This full-time role requires CADC I/II, SUD treatment experience, and strong de-escalation and trauma-informed care skills. Schedule is Mon-Fri 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; benefits are included.

Qualifications

• CADC certification or related education is preferred.
• Six months to a year of SUD treatment or practicum experience is required.
• Familiarity with de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed care are desired.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate treatment groups and individual counseling using evidence-based practices (CBT, Motivational Interviewing).
• Provide case management and coordinate with treatment teams and DOC counselors.
• Monitor behavior, de-escalate when needed, and document in the EHR.
• Develop and update treatment plans and assess relapse risk factors.
• Complete ASAM LOC behavioral health assessments and maintain compliance with laws and regulations.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings; ensure HIPAA compliance.
