The role starts at $24.88/hour with steps after six months and shift differentials for 2nd/3rd shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Valid driver's license required for transportation positions.
• Must pass correction officer assessment or have completed it within the past 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain institution security and safety by enforcing rules and procedures.
• Supervise inmate activity in assigned areas.
• Ensure assigned areas are clean, safe, and secure.
• Monitor security controls, equipment, and computers.
• Transport inmates and operate perimeter vehicles as needed.
• Conduct inmate counts, security rounds, and searches.
• Complete required reports and participate on committees.
• Prevent escapes or incidents threatening security.
• Use force when necessary to detain or secure inmates.
