Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a Corrections Medication Aide trainee to assist in the Unit Medication Room operations and dispense medications from filled prescriptions. This on-the-job training position is contingent upon successful completion of the CMA program and attainment of CMA certification/permit from the Texas licensing authority.
Trainees perform duties within the health care department as assigned.
This position assists in the overall operation of the Unit Medication Room and distributes clients medications from filled prescriptions.
On-the-job training position for the Correctional Medication Aide (CMA) Training Program. This position is a training position contingent upon the successful completion of the CMA program and attainment of the CMA certification/permit from the licensing authority. During this training period, performs training as assigned, conducts other duties, and within scope of the Trainee position. These duties, within the health care department, may or may not be directly related to this position.
Applicants will be considered for either a Correctional Medication Aide or Correctional Medication Aide Trainee level position based on education, experience, and skills.
Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent and Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) with current credential from the Texas Department of State Health Services, OR Successful completion of a certified medication aide training course and passage of State exam.
