Job summary

SolomonEdwards is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to serve as a key technical resource for federal corporate income tax compliance, tax provision activities, audit support, and strategic planning across a complex multi-entity organization. This role offers relocation assistance and collaboration with senior stakeholders.

The position requires 8–10+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, CPA or MST preferred, and strong knowledge of ASC 740 and IAS 12.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation or MST strongly preferred.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive corporate tax experience.
  • 4–6+ years with a Big 4 or large public accounting firm strongly preferred.
  • Combination of public accounting and in-house corporate tax experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting a large, complex, multi-entity organization.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal corporate income taxation and consolidated return compliance.
  • Significant experience with tax provision and income tax accounting, including ASC 740 and IAS 12.
  • Experience with federal and state income tax compliance.
  • Experience supporting federal tax audits, controversy matters, and audit defense.
  • Strong tax research and technical writing capabilities.
  • Experience evaluating corporate tax planning opportunities and legislative developments.
  • Pension plan and company car.

Responsibilities

  • Manage U.S. federal corporate income tax compliance and related tax provision activities.
  • Review federal and state income tax returns, workpapers, calculations, and supporting schedules.
  • Support income tax accounting and financial reporting requirements under ASC 740 and IAS 12.
  • Oversee consolidated federal income tax return compliance for multiple corporate entities.
  • Research complex federal and state tax matters and prepare technical position memoranda.
  • Manage federal tax audits, notices, examinations, and other tax controversy matters.
  • Develop and maintain documentation supporting tax positions and audit defense strategies.
  • Coordinate estimated tax payment processes across multiple U.S. entities.
  • Identify and evaluate tax planning opportunities while assessing potential risks and exposures.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and analyze their potential financial and operational impact.
  • Provide technical tax guidance and practical recommendations to business leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Commercial, Supply Chain, and other business teams.
  • Support strategic projects and transactions by evaluating relevant corporate tax implications.
  • Assist in developing and enhancing tax processes, policies, documentation, and internal controls.

A publicly traded distribution and marketing organization is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager. This highly visible position will serve as a key technical resource responsible for federal corporate income tax compliance, tax provision activities, audit support, and strategic tax planning across a complex, multi-entity organization.

The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, location and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
