Job summary

Cummins is seeking an MBA student for a Corporate Strategy internship in Indianapolis, IN. You will collaborate closely with senior leaders to develop strategic recommendations, initially owning an individual workstream and eventually leading entire projects.

You will conduct market and financial analyses, evaluate growth opportunities, and support decisions related to technology, product, and market participation.

Qualifications

• MBA student or equivalent pursuing degree graduating after May 2028.
• Must be able to complete a minimum of 10 weeks.
• Must be able to complete 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead individual workstreams supporting high-priority strategic initiatives.
• Conduct market, customer, competitor, technology, and financial analysis.

Job description

If you join Cummins' Corporate Strategy team, you will be at the forefront of helping the company navigate this evolving landscape. As a Corporate Strategy Manager, you will work directly with senior leaders to develop recommendations on Cummins' most important strategic priorities and growth opportunities. You will have ownership initially over an individual workstream and eventually over entire projects, with multiple opportunities to directly present your recommendations to Cummins leaders.

Recent projects have included evaluating growth opportunities across existing and adjacent markets, assessing M&A and partnership opportunities, developing market-entry and technology strategies, evaluating geopolitical and supply chain risks, supporting product and platform strategy decisions, exploring digital and AI-enabled business opportunities, and shaping long-term corporate strategy. Corporate Strategy Managers work closely with leaders across product, engineering, commercial, operations, finance, and technology organizations to help guide enterprise decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role is hybrid, by which we mean that managers are expected to be present in both locations periodically for stakeholder and team engagement, and work from home is also possible. The expectation is to be in the office 3 days a week.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
