Job summary

CEC is seeking a Corporate Safety Training Manager to create, manage, and track safety training programs across the company. This role designs a company-wide curriculum, ensures OSHA compliance, and maintains records audit-ready.

You will lead LMS administration, report on compliance, and partner with site leadership, Safety team, and Human Resources to deliver timely training while developing train-the-trainer programs across sites.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification required; OSHA 500/501/502 trainer credentials preferred.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or CET trainer is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 standards and training requirements.
• Experience administering an LMS or similar training-tracking platform.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and maintains a company-wide safety training curriculum covering new-hire orientation, role-specific training, and ongoing refresher/compliance training.
• Manages the company's Learning Management System (LMS) or training tracking platform, ensuring accurate enrollment, completion, and certification records for every employee and site.
• Tracks and reports on training compliance across all sites, identifying gaps and following up with site leadership to close them before deadlines.
• Ensures all safety training content aligns with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements, and updates materials as regulations change.
• Develops and delivers train-the-trainer programs to build site-level training capability and consistency across the organization.
• Creates and maintains training materials, including presentations, videos, job aids, and e-learning modules, in coordination with the Safety and Communications teams.
• Maintains a master training matrix mapping required training to job roles, sites, and regulatory triggers.
• Coordinates scheduling of instructor-led training, certifications (e.g., first aid/CPR, forklift, confined space), and third-party training vendors.
• Prepares training compliance reports and dashboards for site and senior leadership, highlighting completion rates, upcoming expirations, and risk areas.
• Supports audit readiness by maintaining organized, retrievable training records and documentation.
• Partners with EHS site leaders and Human Resources to align training programs with onboarding, career development, and disciplinary processes.
• Evaluates training program effectiveness and incorporates feedback and incident trends into curriculum updates.
• Stays current on training best practices, adult learning principles, and emerging safety training technologies.
• Performs other duties as needed to support EHS training initiatives and the department.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in safety training, EHS, or a related field, with a bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Education, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Demonstrated experience designing, delivering, and tracking training programs across multiple sites or a large workforce.
• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification required; OSHA 500/501/502 (Authorized Trainer)
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Safety and Health Trainer (CET) preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA training requirements and general industry (29 CFR 1910) standards.
• Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS) or similar training-tracking platform.
• Association for Talent Development (ATD) certification or similar instructional design credential a plus.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong instructional design skills, including adult learning theory and e-learning development tools.
• Excellent presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills for delivering training to diverse audiences.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate training schedules across multiple sites simultaneously.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; experience with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Camtasia) a plus.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to build and interpret training compliance dashboards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail in recordkeeping and documentation.
• Experience building train-the-trainer programs a plus.
• Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Requires mobility within an office environment, with periodic travel to sites to deliver or observe training.
• Regularly required to talk and hear. Effectively communicate with others both written and orally, including using the telephone.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, and standing/moving while facilitating in-person training sessions.
• The employee may be required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and bend.
• May be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Possess good hearing, normal or corrected.
• The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (training equipment/materials).
• The employee may be required to climb stairs.
• Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required, including night or weekend shifts for training events as needed.
