Job summary

Hooper is seeking a seasoned safety leader to translate vision into disciplined execution across multiple sites. You will drive the corporate safety program, maintain regulatory compliance, and lead staffing and professional growth for the safety team.

You will coordinate with site representatives to ensure consistent standards, establish measurable safety goals, and push continuous improvement across all locations through audits and training.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years in safety roles with multi-site exposure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental/Health Sciences, or related field.
• Certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, CUSP, OSHA 30/510/511 are preferred.
• Proven ability to work with federal, state, local safety regulations.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the execution of the corporate safety program, ensuring strategies, policies, and initiatives are implemented across locations and units.
• Provide leadership and oversight for staffing, including team development, hiring participation, performance management, and growth.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and monitor regulatory changes, updating programs and training accordingly.
• Provide leadership to site and departmental safety representatives ensuring consistency and accountability for safety performance.
• Translate safety objectives into actionable plans, metrics, and initiatives.
• Establish accountability for safety performance with goals, audits, and corrective actions tracking.
• Advise on safety-related decisions, evaluating risks and alignment with priorities before implementation.
• Drive a strong safety culture, promoting safe behaviors and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

General Summary:

Accountable for translating the organization’s safety vision, values, and regulatory obligations into disciplined execution, consistent practices, and measurable value add. The role focuses on preventing Serious Injury and Fatalities (SIFs) and promoting a strong safety culture within the department.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Own and lead the execution of the corporate safety program, ensuring safety strategies, policies, and initiatives are effectively implemented and sustained across all locations and business units.
• Provides leadership and oversight for staffing, including team development, hiring participation, performance management, and professional growth of team members.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations, proactively monitor regulatory changes and coordinating timely updates to programs, training, and practices.
• Provide leadership and direction to site and departmental safety representatives, ensuring consistent application of standards and accountability for safety performance.
• Translate corporate safety objectives into actionable plans, metrics, and initiatives.
• Establish and maintain clear accountability for safety performance, including safety goals, observations, audits, corrective action tracking.
• Serve as the primary advisor and filter for safety-related decisions and initiatives, evaluating risks, feasibility, and alignment with organizational priorities before implementation.
• Drive a strong safety culture, reinforcing safe behaviors, continuous improvement, and shared responsibility at all levels of the organization.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Experience: 5–10+ years in safety roles with multi-site corporate exposure; demonstrated success leading programs, audits, and incident investigations.
• Education: Bachelor’s in Occupational Safety, Environmental/Health Sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certifications (preferred/plus): CSP, ASP, CHST, CUSP, OSHA 30/510/511, First Aid/CPR/AED.
• Proven ability: Working knowledge of all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations.
• Technical Skills: Ability to recognize unsafe or hazardous working conditions.
• Behavioral Skills: Public speaking/presentation skills, strong attention to detail.

Description of physical working environment:

• Normal office environment, frequent client visits, and on-site visits in all kinds of weather to survey site conditions and resolve coordination issues.
• May require lifting of supply boxes or materials up to 30 lbs.
