Job summary

RealREPP is seeking a Corporate Risk Manager to oversee risk management, insurance, claims, and loss prevention across a multifamily portfolio. This role partners with operations, HR, legal, maintenance, and property management teams to identify and reduce risk while supporting compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, business, finance, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in risk management, insurance, claims, or related field.
  • Experience in multifamily housing, real estate, property management, hospitality, or similar industry preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with outside counsel, reviewing contracts, managing litigation, or supporting regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance coverages, claims administration, OSHA requirements, and risk mitigation practices.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement proactive solutions.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee risk management and loss prevention programs for multifamily communities.
  • Identify risks and implement corrective actions and mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to property operations and liability exposure.
  • Maintain and update risk management policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Partner with operational leaders to ensure consistent application of policies and risk reduction practices.
  • Manage the company's insurance portfolio, renewals, applications, certificates, and audits.
  • Review contracts for insurance and indemnification requirements.
  • Track claims trends and analyze loss data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee property, liability, and workers' compensation claims from report to resolution.
  • Coordinate investigations and work with counsel, adjusters, and stakeholders on claims.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting related to incidents and claims.
  • Monitor reserves, settlements, and claim outcomes.
  • Develop and support safety initiatives and training for on-site and corporate employees.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and metrics for leadership review.
  • Support due diligence related to acquisitions, dispositions, and new business opportunities.

This role will partner closely with operations, HR, legal, maintenance, and property management teams to identify and reduce risk while supporting compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is highly organized, analytical, solutions‑oriented, and experienced in managing claims, insurance programs, incident investigations, and risk mitigation strategies within a property management, real estate, multifamily, or related environment.

Key Responsibilities
Risk Management & Compliance
  • Develop and oversee company-wide risk management and loss prevention programs for multifamily residential communities.
  • Identify operational, financial, legal, and safety risks and recommend corrective actions and mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to property operations, safety, and liability exposure.
  • Maintain and update risk management policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Partner with operational leaders to ensure consistent application of company policies and risk reduction practices.
Insurance Administration
  • Manage the company's insurance portfolio, including general liability, property, workers' compensation, auto, umbrella, cyber, and other applicable coverages.
  • Coordinate policy renewals, insurance applications, certificates of insurance, and audits with brokers and carriers.
  • Review contracts and vendor agreements for insurance and indemnification requirements.
  • Track claims trends and analyze loss data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Claims Management
  • Oversee property, liability, and workers' compensation claims from initial report through resolution.
  • Conduct or coordinate investigations related to incidents, injuries, accidents, property damage, and liability claims.
  • Partner with legal counsel, insurance carriers, adjusters, and internal stakeholders on claims handling and litigation matters.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to incidents and claims activity.
  • Monitor reserves, settlement activity, and claim outcomes.
Safety & Training
  • Develop and support safety initiatives and training programs for on‑site and corporate employees.
  • Conduct property risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Recommend corrective actions and follow up on implementation.
  • Support emergency preparedness and crisis response planning.
Collaboration & Reporting
  • Work closely with maintenance and operations teams to address property safety concerns and prevent recurring incidents.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and metrics related to claims activity, insurance costs, safety trends, and risk exposure for leadership review.
  • Support due diligence related to acquisitions, dispositions, and new business opportunities.
  • Partner with HR on workplace injuries, accommodations, and workers' compensation matters.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in risk management, insurance, claims, or a related field.
  • Experience within multifamily housing, real estate, property management, hospitality, or a similar industry preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with outside counsel, reviewing contracts, managing litigation matters, or supporting regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance coverages, claims administration, OSHA requirements, and risk mitigation practices.
  • Experience managing workers' compensation, general liability, and property claims.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement proactive solutions.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and risk management or claims tracking systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ARM, CRM, or similar professional certification preferred.
