Job summary

Mauser Corp. in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead cost reduction projects and optimize production processes.

You will coordinate with management to define objectives and prepare AFE updates, ensuring alignment with plant goals. You will analyze machine processes, develop work instructions, train employees, and implement safety improvements by collaborating with internal and external resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing or leading technical projects.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and MS Office; SAP/Minitab a plus.
  • Ability to read CAD drawings; 2D AutoCAD experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cost reduction projects and document AFE updates.
  • Develop objectives and plans by reviewing scope with management.
  • Improve machine processes and develop work instructions; train employees; promote safety improvements.
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes; design and test methods and equipment.
  • Assist in root-cause analysis for customer complaints and implement process improvements.
  • Support downtime and scrap reduction; plan and commission new or modified production lines.
  • Create process documentation for integration into the quality system.
  • Control project costs by approving expenditures and managing contractor contracts.
  • Prepare status reports and analyze timelines; investigate production problems.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State and OSHA regulations; obtain permits if applicable.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Manages activities of cost reduction projects including documentation to write AFE update reports
  • Develops project objectives and plans by reviewing the overall scope with the management team
  • Monitors and improves machine processes & develops work instructions to train employees and participate in implementing safety improvements by working with internal and external resources
  • Evaluates and improves manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; incorporating new methods and techniques; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, tooling and materials; soliciting observations from operators; studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying and testing manufacturing methods and equipment
  • Assists in determining root cause and provide corrective action with customer product complaints and validate implemented manufacturing process improvements to ensure desired results
  • Participates in projects that support in reducing downtime and scrap while organize, plan and commission new or modified production lines
  • Develops appropriate manufacturing process documentation (work instructions, process setup instructions, and maintenance requirements) for integration into the company’s quality system
  • Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts
  • Prepares project status reports by analyzing information and reviewing timelines and investigate operational problems affecting production in a systematic and methodical manner
  • Ensures that all contractors and personnel working on projects comply with Federal, State and OSHA regulations. Obtaining necessary building permits if applicable
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or minimum of 5 years’ equivalent experience
  • Previous experience managing or leading technical projects required
  • Desired attainment of nationally recognized certification in manufacturing engineering, such as AME or SME
  • Excellent computer and data analysis skills. proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), SAP & Data Analysis (such as Minitab) experience a plus
  • Ability to read CAD drawings; experience with utilizing 2D Auto Cad
  • Excellent analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills
