Job summary

SEPTA is seeking a Paralegal - Corporate to provide substantive legal support in its Office of General Counsel. The role focuses on real estate, procurement, contracts, and general business operations, coordinating with internal departments and external parties to keep processes compliant and efficient.

The candidate will handle drafting, editing, reviewing, negotiations, and execution of contracts, and support various transactional matters across transportation, real estate, and regulatory

Qualifications

• SEPTA approved degree (Associate/Bachelor) and ABA-accredited paralegal certificate required.
• 3–5 years of paralegal experience in real estate, transactional, or government/public agency settings.
• Knowledge of real estate transactions, contract administration, and procurement processes.
• Proficiency with MS Office, document management systems, and legal research platforms.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal and business matters.
• Organize and manage matter files per department practices.
• Support special projects and duties as assigned by supervising attorneys.
• Assist with real estate transactions, leases, licenses, and acquisitions.
• Review title commitments, surveys, and recorded documents; flag issues.
• Prepare transfer tax filings and related forms.
• Maintain transaction files, closing checklists, and tracking.
