Job summary

Plona Partners is seeking an experienced Blue Sky Paralegal / EDGAR Specialist for its New York office. You will manage SEC and state filings for a platform covering 1,000+ hedge funds, private funds, and commodity pools, working closely with attorneys across Investment Funds and Regulatory & Enforcement practices.

The role offers direct interaction with attorneys, partners and clients, with significant ownership of the Blue Sky filing function and the potential for remote OT when needed.

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years of Blue Sky experience or Hedge Fund background.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• SEC and state securities filing experience with EDGAR Next knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage SEC and state regulatory filings across a large funds platform.
• Prepare Blue Sky notices and SEC filings; liaise with clients and attorneys.
• Maintain the Blue Sky platform and assist clients with its use.

Job description

Plona Partners is partnering with an elite AmLaw 20 firm to identify an experienced Blue Sky Paralegal / EDGAR Specialist for its New York office. The position will support attorneys across the firm's Investment Funds and Regulatory & Enforcement practices, helping manage SEC and state regulatory filings for a platform covering 1,000+ active hedge funds, commodity pools and private equity funds. Most importantly, this isn't one seat on a large Blue Sky team.

You would be the firm's dedicated Blue Sky Paralegal.

What You'll Handle

You'll help manage SEC and state regulatory filings across a substantial investment funds platform, including preparing Blue Sky notices and SEC filings, analyzing fund offering documents, communicating directly with clients regarding regulatory requirements, and partnering with attorneys to gather information needed for filings.

You’ll also help maintain the firm's proprietary Blue Sky platform and assist clients with its use.

Who We're Looking For

• 4–7+ years of relevant Blue Sky experience
• Large law firm or hedge fund background
• Strong familiarity with hedge funds and offering documents
• SEC and state securities filing experience
• Familiarity with current EDGAR Next requirements
• Bachelor's degree required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
• Candidates currently carrying titles such as Blue Sky Paralegal, EDGAR Specialist, Securities Paralegal or Investment Funds Paralegal may be particularly relevant.
