Job summary

Backcountry is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for the Salt Lake City corporate office. The role focuses on employee relations, performance management, onboarding, training, and engagement across corporate staff.

You will partner with leaders to ensure timely performance cycles and fair resolutions. You will own end-to-end HR processes, collaborate with other HR managers serving fulfillment centers and retail, and drive training and engagement initiatives reflecting Backcountry's

Qualifications

• 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years as an HR generalist or HR business partner supporting corporate or professional employees.
• Hands-on employee relations experience, including conducting investigations and documenting outcomes.
• Experience running or supporting a performance management cycle.
• Working knowledge of federal and Utah employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and related requirements).
• Experience delivering training or facilitating workshops for employees and managers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR partner for corporate office leaders and employees, advising on team structure and day-to-day HR questions.
• Coach managers on giving feedback, handling difficult conversations, and building strong teams.
• Manage employee relations for the corporate office, including investigations and documentation.
• Partner with HR leadership on compensation reviews, promotions, and job leveling for corporate roles.
• Run the performance review process for the corporate office and support calibration.
• Coordinate and deliver training for corporate employees and managers.
• Plan and run engagement initiatives for the corporate office.
