Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Strategic Finance Expert for a remote, contract role. You will build business cases using NPV, IRR, and payback analyses for projects and make-vs-buy decisions, and you will drive capital allocation through portfolio reviews.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in strategic finance, corporate strategy or corporate planning within an operating company.
• Ownership of a capital or pricing decision that went to a leadership forum.
• Experience in management consulting or Big 4 strategy background in an operator role.
• Growth equity background in-house.
• Deal desk or pricing strategy experience.

Responsibilities

• Build business cases using NPV, IRR and payback for projects or make-versus-buy decisions.
• Rank investments against hurdle rates and perform portfolio reviews for capital allocation.
• Develop scenario analyses of the corporate plan across demand, pricing and cost.
• Analyze pricing and margin to support price setting and deal desk approvals.

Position: Strategic Finance Expert
Type: Contract
Compensation: $2000/hour
Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Build business cases and investment appraisals using NPV, IRR, and payback for projects, products, or make-versus-buy decisions.
• Produce capital allocation determinations by ranking investments against hurdle rates with portfolio review.
• Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses of the corporate plan across demand, pricing, and cost.
• Analyze pricing and discount economics to support price setting and deal desk approvals with margin impact.
• Conduct market sizing and competitive landscape analysis, cohort and unit economics, and cost baseline and savings analysis for cost reduction programs.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• 4+ years in strategic finance, corporate strategy, or corporate planning inside an operating company.
• Ownership of a capital or pricing decision that went to a leadership forum.

Preferred

• Management consulting or Big 4 strategy background now in an operator seat.
• Growth equity background now in-house.
• Deal desk or pricing strategy experience.
