Job summary

Halliburton seeks an experienced Accountant in Houston to support legal entity equity accounting, investments, and intercompany activity. You’ll help close monthly/quarterly books, reconcile balances, and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX controls within the Global Operations Accounting group.

The role reports to a manager and involves cross-functional coordination with Financial Reporting, Tax, Treasury and Legal. Bachelor's in Accounting is required; CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA or active pursuit preferred.
• Experience in corporate or intercompany accounting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX controls.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word; Adobe Pro a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries related to legal entity equity, investments, intercompany transactions, and assigned corporate accounting activity.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close processes to help ensure timely, complete, and accurate financial results.
• Prepare and analyze monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and follow through on timely resolution.
• Support legal entity equity reporting requirements, including equity rollforwards, ownership activity, investment account analysis, and related reporting schedules.
• Gather, validate, and analyze financial data to support accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and management reporting.
• Maintain compliance with applicable U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX controls over assigned corporate accounting processes.
• Coordinate with cross-functional groups such as Financial Reporting Group, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and regional finance teams to obtain support and deliver accurate reporting.
• Prepare audit support, respond to internal and external audit requests, and maintain documentation supporting accounting conclusions and control performance.
• Research, analyze, and resolve accounting issues related to legal entity structure, equity activity, investment balances, intercompany transactions, and assigned corporate accounting areas.
• Assist with special projects, process improvements, and ad hoc accounting requests as needed.
