Job description

Innophos is seeking a Corporate Environmental Senior Manager to join our Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) leadership team. Reporting to the Senior Director of EH&S, this role serves as the primary technical resource for all environmental matters for the company. The incumbent will ensure compliance with applicable regulations through the monitoring of Federal/State/Local regulatory process and maintain all site environmental based permits and programs.

This position drives continuous improvement in environmental performance and supports all sustainability, environmental, social, and governance matters. This role will necessitate travel to our North American manufacturing facilities in the US, Canada and Mexico.

This position can be based in our Cranbury, NJ Headquarters or at one of our production facilities in Chicago Heights, IL, Nashville, TN, or Geismar, LA. This role offers an optional hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Corporate oversight of all environmental, sustainability, and ESG matters at all Innophos sites
  • Corporate oversight of Louisiana hazardous waste injection wells
  • Fosters the implementation of cost-effective energy reduction initiatives, overall environmental footprint reduction and achieving sustainability objectives
  • Identifies and manages outside consultants as required to support the Corporation's environmental, sustainability, and ESG programs
  • Provides practical and technical expertise, advice, and solutions
  • Ensure full environmental compliance with federal and state regulations, environmental policies and company procedures across all Innophos locations. Ensure all Facility permits, and written plans are in place and maintained
  • Interface with State and Federal regulatory agencies to provide regulatory interpretation, discuss regulatory compliance issues and negotiate implementable solutions
  • Develop and drive continuous improvement by creating proactive solutions and revising standard procedures and practices as needed to achieve and maintain environmental and operational excellence
  • Assists with environmental due diligence for mergers and acquisitions
  • Partners with operations teams, to ensure EHS is integrated into business processes to achieve site and corporate business objectives

Required Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical sciences; Environmental degree preferred
  • 15 or more years minimum with escalating responsibilities, broad-based (air, water, solid waste) environmental experience (consulting and/or industry), and sustainability or ESG
  • Multi-site experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both at the Plant level and with corporate staff
  • Experience with due diligence for mergers and acquisitions preferred

  • A solid understanding of CAA, CWA, RCRA and DOT

  • Ability to travel monthly and as needed to Innophos sites, up to 40%
