Job description

PURPOSE

Ripley’s is not a traditional company, and this is not a traditional HR role. At Ripley’s, we believe in the extraordinary. What started as one man’s curiosity has become a global legacy powered by people who dare to be different. We have a workforce of nearly 3,000 employees, with a significant number hired in a concentrated period for the summer season, creating a unique need for strong HR leadership, processes that can handle high-volume hiring and day-to-day HR needs across many locations, and practical operational support.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a trusted HR leader who brings an open-minded approach and builds credibility through sound judgment, active listening, practical business sense, and consistent follow-through. You have extensive experience in building and developing HR processes and procedures, creating and successfully executing training and development programs to elevate employees, and possess expertise in supporting multiple business units and teams.

You are comfortable advising senior executives, supporting front-line managers, navigating complex employee and labor relations, coaching leaders, and helping the business make thoughtful people decisions. You are not about bureaucracy, and you understand that strong performance and positive culture go hand in hand. You bring executive presence, a high degree of emotional intelligence, strong follow-through, and the confidence to challenge assumptions when you see a better way forward.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Partner with executive and operational leaders to develop and execute HR strategies that support the needs of the business.
  • Lead HR support across multiple locations, states, and countries, including both unionized and non-unionized teams.
  • Support workforce planning and seasonal hiring strategies for a workforce of nearly 3,000 employees, including large-scale summer hiring of at least 1,000 team members.
  • Guide employee relations, labor relations, investigations, performance management, succession planning, leadership development, talent planning, compensation, and workforce planning.
  • Build consistency in HR practices while recognizing the needs of individual attractions and the corporate office.
  • Use data, practical judgment, and strong relationships to identify trends, address people-related issues early, support engagement, and improve decision-making.
  • Oversee ADP and related HR systems to ensure our technology supports the business, enhances the employee experience, maintains effective and up-to-date practices and advances our HR capabilities where it adds value.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience preferred, including significant senior HR leadership experience supporting large teams across multiple locations and regions.
  • A Bachelor’s degree, advanced education, and HR certifications are assets, but if you're wondering what we're really looking for, it's someone who enjoys working with people, brings positive energy to the team, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get things done.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency with ADP, Microsoft Office tools and reporting dashboards, and a real interest in using the latest AI-enabled software to improve HR processes and decision-making.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefit programs, U.S. employment legislation, retirement programs, employee relations, and workplace investigations.
  • Proven success partnering with executive leaders, coaching managers, leading HR teams, and helping leaders make sound, practical people decisions.
  • Comfortable analyzing numbers using workforce data, turnover analysis, engagement feedback, and business results to support decisions.
  • Ability to travel approximately 40% of the time throughout the Company to stay connected to our people and business.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • You are a highly visible, accessible HR partner who is trusted by leaders and teams.
  • Leaders are stronger, teams are more effective, and people practices are consistent and understood across locations.
  • Great people want to stay, and great talent wants to join.
  • Impact is reflected in stronger leadership, improved engagement and meaningful operational support.
