Job summary

AMD’s Corporate Development Team in Santa Clara, CA seeks a driven Corporate Development Manager to shape inorganic growth opportunities. You will identify, evaluate, and execute acquisitions and strategic investments expanding AMD’s AI, data center, and software capabilities.

You’ll work with executives across engineering, finance, legal, and strategy to translate market trends into actionable opportunities, while leveraging AI-enabled tools to accelerate research and analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, computer science, or related field.
• MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in semiconductors, AI infrastructure, enterprise software, cloud computing, networking, or related markets preferred.
• Exceptional financial modeling and valuation skills for M&A analysis and diligence.
• Fluency with generative AI and AI-enabled productivity tools.

Responsibilities

• Define inorganic growth priorities with senior leadership and develop acquisition/investment theses.
• Monitor AI hardware/software, HPC, data center, cloud/enterprise AI, edge computing, and adjacent markets.
• Identify and evaluate companies, technologies, talent, IP, and ecosystem capabilities.
• Develop and present acquisition business cases, valuations, and transaction materials to executives; apply AI tools in analysis.
• Lead or coordinate all M&A phases: engagement, due diligence, valuation, structuring, negotiation, closing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.
• Support integration planning and post-close performance monitoring.
• Improve Corporate Development processes and knowledge management.

THE ROLE

Join AMD’s Corporate Development team as a Corporate Development Manager and help shape the company’s inorganic growth strategy at a pivotal moment in computing.

AMD is advancing the future of AI and high-performance computing through a broad portfolio spanning CPUs, GPUs, adaptive computing, networking, systems, and software—from the data center and cloud to the edge and endpoint. In this high-impact role, you will identify, evaluate, and execute acquisitions and strategic investments that expand AMD’s capabilities, strengthen its ecosystem, and advance its long-term strategic objectives.

Working closely with senior executives and leaders across AMD’s business and technology organizations, you will assess rapidly evolving markets, develop compelling investment theses, and help translate emerging technology trends into actionable strategic opportunities.

THE PERSON

We seek an intellectually curious, creative, and highly analytical professional with exceptional business judgment and a genuine passion for technology.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at the intersection of business strategy, technology, and finance. You should be able to develop a practical understanding of complex hardware, software, and systems-level technologies; identify the strategic implications of emerging trends; and translate that understanding into clear recommendations for senior leaders.

You will bring strong interpersonal skills, executive presence, sound judgment, and the ability to influence across functions. You should also be an effective and responsible user of AI-enabled tools, applying them to accelerate research, analysis, synthesis, and workflow execution while independently validating outputs and protecting confidential information.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partner with senior leadership and AMD’s business and technology organizations to define inorganic growth priorities and develop acquisition and investment theses.
• Monitor developments across AI hardware and software, high-performance and heterogeneous computing, data center infrastructure, networking, cloud and enterprise AI, edge computing, and adjacent markets.
• Identify and evaluate companies, technologies, talent, intellectual property, and ecosystem capabilities that could strengthen AMD’s competitive position and accelerate its strategic roadmap.
• Develop and present compelling acquisition business cases, valuation analyses, transaction recommendations, and decision materials to senior leadership. Apply AI-enabled tools and advanced analytical techniques to improve the speed and quality of analysis and preparation of executive materials.
• Lead or coordinate all phases of M&A execution, including target engagement, due diligence, valuation, transaction structuring, negotiation, approval processes, and closing.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams—including business units, engineering, finance, legal, tax, accounting, human resources, integration, and external advisors to drive high-quality and timely outcomes.
• Support acquisition integration planning and post-close performance monitoring to help ensure that strategic and financial objectives are achieved.
• Continuously improve Corporate Development processes, analytical methods, knowledge management, and execution standards.
• Build and maintain a strong external network of entrepreneurs, investors, bankers, industry executives, and technical experts to develop market insight and identify emerging opportunities.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Progressive experience in corporate development, technology investment banking, private equity, growth investing, venture capital, strategy consulting, or a related role.
• Demonstrated interest in and understanding of the technology sector, with experience in semiconductors, AI infrastructure, enterprise software, cloud computing, networking, data center technologies, or related markets strongly preferred.
• Exceptional financial modeling and valuation skills, with a strong understanding of M&A analysis, transaction structures, diligence, and related financial and strategic considerations.
• Practical fluency with generative AI and other AI-enabled productivity and analytical tools, including the ability to use them effectively for research, synthesis, analysis, and workflow automation.
• Strong critical-thinking skills and ability to use appropriate judgment when handling sensitive or confidential information.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create concise, persuasive narratives and present effectively to senior executives.
• Strong project leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to drive multiple complex workstreams under demanding timelines.
• Proactive, resourceful, and results-oriented, with the high degree of ownership, integrity, and commitment to excellence.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, computer science, or a related field; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
