Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Corporate Counsel to work within the Anywhere Brands Legal Department. Anywhere Brands includes franchised brands and shared services functions such as franchise sales, operations, contract administration, finance, and marketing. This position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Madison, NJ, with remote options.

The Corporate Counsel will review, draft, negotiate, and advise on franchise sales, renewals, agreements, product development, marketing, vendor contracts, disputes, and compliance matters. The role involves collaboration with departments supporting the franchised brands and coordination with corporate legal functions like Litigation, IT, IP, and Employment Law.

Key Responsibilities

1. Draft and negotiate franchise agreements and related documents to support growth and retention.
2. Negotiate vendor contracts, preferably with SaaS and IT experience.
3. Review marketing materials for legal compliance.
4. Advise on laws, rules, and regulations affecting the business.
5. Guide business units on risk mitigation and success strategies.
6. Partner on key initiatives and identify potential issues early.
7. Lead process improvements and uphold the company's best interests.

Minimum Qualifications

1. JD from an accredited law school.
2. 5-8 years of legal experience, with franchise law experience preferred.
3. In-house legal experience is a plus.
4. Excellent communication skills.
5. Ability to work independently and with management.
6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
7. Understanding of franchise laws and regulations preferred.
