Job summary

UAMPS seeks a qualified Legal Counsel to provide assessments, interpretations, and recommendations across regulatory, governance, transactional, and policy matters. You will counsel internal teams on rights, obligations, risks, and compliance, and draft, review, and negotiate key legal documents and governance materials.

The role supports project development, financing, and transmission matters, coordinates with outside counsel, and represents the organization when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal assessments, interpretations, and recommendations on a variety of legal issues.
• Counsel internal clients on legal rights, obligations, risks, and compliance.
• Review facts, laws, regulations, policies, and organizational needs to develop practical legal guidance.
• Advise management and internal departments regarding legal considerations affecting operations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor agreements, master service agreements, NDAs, and other contracts.
• Provide legal support to Human Resources on employment-related matters.
• Prepare governance materials for Board of Directors and Project Management Committees.
• Represent the organization in judicial, regulatory, or administrative proceedings as appropriate.
• Ensure legal documents, reports, correspondence, and related materials are accurate and timely.
