Job summary

Riverhead Building Supply seeks a Corporate Counsel to handle contracts, real estate closings, and litigation support. The role requires NY licensure and 3–4 years of associate experience, with paralegal or law degree considered. Responsibilities include drafting, negotiations and compliance across departments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–4 years associate-level experience or equivalent.
• Licensed to practice law in NY.
• Experience with real estate matters including residential and commercial closings and construction loans.
• Strong litigation skills with drafting pleadings, discovery, and motion practice.
• Paralegal experience or a law degree will be considered.
• Experience with contract and employment law; legal research preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft, manage and revise contracts including but not limited to sales agreements, vendor agreements, and real estate leases.
• Handle customer collections (legal letters, liens, bankruptcies, lawsuits, and satisfaction letters).
• Review advertising materials and other publications for legal compliance.
• Prepare and review construction financing and related closing documents, mortgages, and satisfactions.
• Research and analyze various legal issues involving company operations.
• Review, analyze and interpret applicable statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, and regulations relevant to the company.
• Prepare a variety of business and legal communications to internal and external customers in addressing general business and legal matters.
• Collaborate and prepare company litigation and provide counsel for various departments, including Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Management.
• Represent the company on all traffic tickets including court appearances, and related documents.
