United Shore Financial Services LLC is seeking a Corporate Counsel to support the Legal and Vendor Relations teams. The role emphasizes reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and other business transactions in a 100% onsite Pontiac, MI office.

The position requires Michigan Bar admission (or pending) with 1–3 years of relevant experience and is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Prior in-house experience is a plus.

The Corporate Counsel assists leaders on the Legal and Vendor Relations teams by performing a variety of legal and procurement related duties, with a primary focus on reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and other business transactions.

This role requires 100% onsite attendance in our Pontiac office.

This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization, either now or in the future. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating vendor and other company contracts
• Performing vendor risk management and due diligence functions
• Identifying expiring contracts, managing contract reporting, and preparing amendments and termination letters
• Drafting written correspondence with outside counsel, vendors, and other third-parties
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
• Editing legal documents for accuracy
• Providing support and assistance to members of the Vendor Relations team.
• Reviewing marketing materials and communications for legal and regulatory compliance
• Other duties as assigned

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Must Have Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s and Law Degree
• Admission or pending admission to the Michigan Bar with 1-3 years of relevant job experience
• Experience reviewing and negotiating vendor and other contracts
• Knowledge of the contracting and procurement processes
• Have a commitment to continuous business improvement
• Previous in-house legal experience is a plus
• Be capable of working closely with internal clients and outside counsel
• Have effective planning, organizational and project management skills
• Be able to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively
• Have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Have excellent written and communication skills
• Have the ability to work independently
• Have critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
• Be self-motivated and able to work well in a team based environment
