Position Overview
A leading integrated global trading and investment company is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its New York office. The Corporate Counsel will provide legal and compliance guidance across a wide range of commercial, trade, and investment activities.
This role offers hands‑on exposure to diverse legal matters, including contract negotiation, compliance, investment transactions, dispute resolution, and regulatory oversight. The Corporate Counsel will work closely with business leaders, subsidiaries, and external law firms while developing deep expertise in corporate law, compliance, and cross‑border commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of sophisticated commercial, trade, and investment contracts, including joint ventures, strategic alliances, and cross‑border agreements
- Provide strategic legal and compliance counsel on investment transactions, regulatory matters, and risk mitigation strategies
- Proactively monitor legal and regulatory developments across multiple jurisdictions and deliver actionable guidance to senior business leaders
- Lead or support internal compliance investigations, audits, and risk mitigation initiatives
- Manage external counsel relationships, drive efficiency, and control outside legal spend without compromising quality
- Advise on dispute resolution, litigation strategy, and general corporate governance matters
- Develop and deliver targeted legal and compliance training programs to business teams, both virtually and in‑person
- Serve as a trusted partner to domestic and international subsidiaries and affiliates, providing practical, business‑focused legal support
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
- 4–7 years of experience as a lawyer in a U.S. law firm or in‑house legal team, ideally at a top‑tier law firm
- Excellent drafting, contract review, legal research, and writing skills
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations affecting business operations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and provide sound legal advice across transactional, dispute resolution, and corporate matters
