Leading Global Organization in Columbus, OH seeks a Corporate Counsel – Americas to partner with business leaders and provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance across a diverse portfolio. Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of relevant legal experience, in-house or with a law firm representing corporate clients.
  • J.D. or equivalent law degree and a bachelor's degree.
  • State bar admission or currently pursuing state bar licensure.
  • Strong commercial contracting and negotiation experience.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and interpreting commercial and corporate agreements.
  • Advising business leaders and internal stakeholders on legal and risk considerations.
  • Researching complex and emerging legal issues and translating them into practical business guidance.
  • Developing and delivering legal training to employees and internal clients.
  • Supporting public company filings and corporate governance matters.
  • Managing disputes and litigation, including employment-related matters, with support from senior attorneys.
  • Supporting M&A, compliance, intellectual property, real estate, trade compliance, and other cross-functional initiatives.
  • Monitoring legal trends and emerging risks that could affect the organization.
  • Independently leading cross-functional legal projects and initiatives.

A leading global organization is looking for a Corporate Counsel – Americas to join its Columbus-based legal team and partner directly with business leaders across the organization.

Reporting to the General Counsel – Americas, you'll provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance while working on a diverse portfolio of matters. This isn't a narrowly defined legal role—you'll have the opportunity to draft and negotiate sophisticated commercial agreements while gaining exposure to AI and digitalization, employment, real estate, trade compliance, litigation, M&A, intellectual property, compliance, and public company matters.

The Opportunity

You’ll be a trusted legal partner to the business, helping stakeholders move initiatives forward while identifying and managing legal and compliance risks.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and interpreting commercial and corporate agreements
  • Advising business leaders and internal stakeholders on legal and risk considerations

What We're Looking For
