Job summary

GEODIS, a global 3PL leader, seeks a transactional attorney to structure, draft, redline, and negotiate complex commercial agreements. You will work with multiple business teams to craft detailed statements of work and key exhibits, advising executives on contract status and legal risks.

The role requires 4+ years in transactional law, TN bar eligibility, and strong Microsoft Office skills. You will support cross-functional teams and help manage deadlines across departments at our Brentwood, TN

Qualifications

• Must be able to practice law in at least one state; will need to get TN bar license or in-house license if hired.
• Membership in good standing with at least one state bar required.
• 4+ years of legal experience as a transactional attorney, preferably with experience in commercial transactions/contracts.

Your role on the team: (job description)

• Structures, drafts, redlines and negotiates complex commercial agreements and contracts
• Work with multiple business teams to draft detailed and complex statements of work and other key exhibits and documents
• Advises executives within the company and works alongside employees in the Freight Forwarding and Transportation Management units in addition to Corporate Support functions
• Advises executive team on contract status and legal risks in new commercial ventures
• Manages various projects and meets tight corporate deadlines
• Provides training and development support to Paralegals within department
• Maintains strong working knowledge of legislative changes that may affect company, customers, and/or affiliates
• Performs pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights
• Effectively communicates legal risks with executive staff

What you need: (requirements)

• Membership in good standing with at least one state bar required.
• Must be able to practice law in at least one state; will need to get TN bar license or in-house license if hired.
• 4+ years of legal experience as a transactional attorney, preferably with experience in commercial transactions/contracts. Transportation experience a big plus.
• PC literate with a command of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual.
• Ability to write detailed reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to perform duties using project management principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
• Ability to draft contractual requirements.
• Superior problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to provide clear and direct communications both verbally and in written form.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage own work.
• Self –motivated and able to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
