Job summary

Orionplacement is seeking an experienced accounting leader in Sioux Falls, SD, to own the accounting and financial reporting function. You will work directly with the CFO and executive leadership, leading audits, strengthening internal controls, and building scalable processes to meet public-company standards.

The role requires CPA, a bachelor’s degree, and 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on audits.

Qualifications

• CPA license and bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with substantial audit responsibilities.
• Direct experience with a PCAOB-registered firm or SEC reporting company.
• Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP, technical accounting, and internal controls.
• Experience leading monthly/quarterly/annual closes and audit documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes with GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Own financial statement prep, GL accuracy, reconciliations, and management reporting.
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors, managing audits and issue resolution.
• Research and document technical accounting matters (revenue, inventory, leases, acquisitions).
• Strengthen internal controls and scalable reporting processes.
• Drive ERP improvements and data integrity.
• Build and lead the accounting function while collaborating with leadership.
• Partner with C-suite on financial planning and compliance.
