Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, 5+ in Controller leadership.
• Multi-entity accounting experience and exposure to systems design.
• Experience with large ERP platforms and evaluating or implementing systems.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and internal controls.
• Proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Brandon Clark with Connexa Search Group is working with a privately owned organization with multiple entities in Spartanburg County, South Carolina to identify their next Controller.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This seat owns all accounting operations across several affiliated entities under common ownership, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The organization is replacing its accounting technology platform, and the Controller owns that evaluation, selection, and implementation. It is a build seat as much as a close seat.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll


• Own the evaluation, selection, and implementation of an updated accounting technology platform


• Lead the month end, quarter end, and year end close processes


• Prepare and present consolidated and entity level financial statements


• Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions across affiliated entities


• Develop, document, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls


• Manage and mentor the accounting team, and partner with senior leadership on strategic decision making

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, CPA required


• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 5+ years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role at an operating company


• Multi entity accounting experience and exposure to systems design


• Experience with large ERP platforms, including evaluating, implementing, or transitioning systems


• Deep knowledge of financial reporting standards and internal controls


• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and succeed in a fast paced, evolving environment
