We’re looking for an experienced Corporate Controller to lead the accounting function for a growing aviation and aerospace services group. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can build, improve, and strengthen accounting processes—not simply maintain what already exists.WHAT YOU’LL BE DOINGLead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processesOversee the general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, estimates, intercompany activity, and significant balance-sheet accountsEnsure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAPProvide technical accounting guidance on complex and unusual transactionsStrengthen accounting processes supporting job costing, WIP, inventory, labor allocation, and project profitabilityDesign, document, and implement scalable accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsPartner with operations and finance leadership to improve financial information and visibility into job marginsLead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while establishing clear accountability and performance expectationsCoordinate annual audits, external advisors, tax support, and other accounting-related reporting requirementsPartner with the CFO on financial results, accounting risks, budgeting, forecasting, acquisitions, and strategic initiativesWHAT YOU NEEDBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldApproximately 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with meaningful leadership responsibilityStrong technical accounting, balance-sheet accounting, U.S. GAAP, and financial reporting knowledgeExperience managing monthly and year-end financial close processesDemonstrated ability to independently research and resolve accounting issuesExperience leading and developing accounting personnelDemonstrated success implementing or improving accounting processes and internal controlsStrong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsCERTIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE WE VALUEActive CPA license strongly preferredPublic accounting experience, particularly Big Four, national, or strong regional firm experienceCombination of public accounting and private-industry experiencePrivate-equity-backed or growing middle-market company experienceExperience with job costing, inventory, WIP, or project-based accountingExperience implementing or improving ERP/accounting systems and financial reporting processesWHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUTYou are a builder who enjoys creating stronger processes, controls, and accounting infrastructureYou can move comfortably between technical accounting, operational accounting, and leadershipYou take ownership of accounting issues and independently develop practical solutionsYou have experience developing an accounting team rather than simply managing an established departmentYou are comfortable working in a growing middle-market environment with significant independenceAVIATION EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS — NOT A REQUIREMENTWe welcome candidates from aviation, aerospace, MRO, manufacturing, industrial services, and other job-costing or project-based environments.
