Job summary

Executive Alliance is representing a growing publicly-listed manufacturing client headquartered in Nassau County, NY. The Corporate Controller will report to the VP Finance/CFO and will manage month-end closes, financial consolidation, and SEC reporting with a hands-on, plant-level focus on cost and inventory accounting.

The role requires 5+ years in accounting within manufacturing, strong GAAP knowledge, ERP experience (Oracle), and the ability to work with external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of related experience in accounting, with mix of public accounting and private industry.
• 2+ years hands-on experience as Director of Accounting, Controller or Assistant Controller at a publicly-listed manufacturing company.
• 1+ years experience preparing 10Q and 10K SEC filings, including MD&A and Footnotes.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage month-end close processes.
• Consolidate financials across divisions with intercompany eliminations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including 10Q and 10K filings.
• Develop internal monthly reporting package and cost accounting at plant level.
• Oversee inventory accounting at manufacturing plant level.
• Support strategic business decisions and monitor bank covenants.
• liaise with external auditors and maintain internal controls.
• Participate in acquisitions including due diligence, purchase accounting and post-acquisition integration.

One of our growing, publicly-listed manufacturing clients HQ'd in Nassau County, NY with annual revenue of ~$75M is hiring a Corporate Controller reporting to the VP Finance/CFO. Salary to ~$200k plus bonus & 401k match. Domestic travel of approximately 20%, mainly to manufacturing plants.

This is a 'hands on' opportunity where relevant experience working at a manufacturing company with cost accounting and inventory accounting is REQUIRED.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE OWNING / MANAGING:

• Month-end financial close
• Financial consolidation of multiple divisions (w/ elimination of intercompany transactions)
• Preparation and analysis of Financial Statements, including 10Q and 10K SEC filings
• Preparation and analysis of internal monthly reporting package
• Cost accounting (performed at the manufacturing plant level)
• Inventory accounting (performed at the manufacturing plant level)
• Assist with strategic business decisions
• Bank covenants monitoring and reporting
• Research and document new accounting guidance and its impact to company
• Process improvements
• Be main point of contact for external auditors
• Maintain and improve internal controls

You will also have key participation in 1-3 company acquisitions the CFO expects over the next 1-3 yrs (due diligence, purchase accounting & post-acquisition integration).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ yrs of related experience. Must have a mix of public accounting and private industry experience
• 2+ yrs of 'hands on' experience as a Director of Accounting, Controller or Assistant Controller at a publicly-listed manufacturing company
• 1+ years experience preparing 10Q and 10K SEC filings, including MD&A and Footnotes
• Fluency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint
• Fluency with common ERP's, Oracle preferred
• Strong GAAP knowledge
• Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills
• CPA is a plus but NOT required
