Corporate Communications – Senior Associate/Account Supervisor

Location: New York City

ICR, a leading corporate communications firm, is seeking a Senior Associate/Account Supervisor to join its corporate communications team. This person will work closely with senior management to provide critical communications and media relations support to the firm’s diverse roster of clients, in industry sectors that could include consumer, retail, food and beverage and restaurants.

This individual will be responsible for helping to lead multiple accounts, and be relied upon to develop and execute strategic corporate communications plans that advance clients’ business objectives, influence public opinion and enhance corporate reputation. The ideal candidate is passionate about media relations, which will play a large role in their day-to-day responsibilities, has relationships with top-tier business journalists and is able to pitch/secure coverage on behalf of clients. This individual also excels in a team environment where management and junior staff work go hand in hand to achieve outstanding results.

Responsibilities:

• Play an active role in the research, planning and development of strategic corporate communications programs
• Help to lead media monitoring, compilation of coverage reports and in-depth analysis of key takeaways inclusive of tone/sentiment, executive quotes, volume, etc.
• Help drive execution of corporate communication strategy, including pitching of business, financial and trade media
• Develop or refine corporate messaging to ensure the client’s value proposition is conveyed in a clear and compelling way
• Develop client content, including bylined articles, press releases, media pitches, and digital content
• Proactive media relations to achieve quality, high-impact placements on a regular basis in business and trade media outlets
• Maintain and enhance client relationships
• Understand the client’s overall business objectives and develop strategies in order to effectively promote specific campaigns
• Involvement with new business efforts, including playing an active role in pitches and the drafting of pitch and proposal materials
• Be able to work closely with others in a collaborate, team environment

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of relevant agency or corporate/financial PR experience, showing proven editorial placements in business media
• Ability to take initiative and proactively pitch and anticipate client needs
• Strong writing skills and experience developing compelling pitches
• Critical and structured thinker with strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to work quickly under pressure, handling and prioritizing multiple assignments
