Job summary

Leoforce is seeking a Corporate Capital Projects Engineer in Lathrop, CA. This senior role leads capital projects from scope through startup, coordinating cross-functional teams and managing multi-facility investments.

You will ensure regulatory compliance, oversee equipment procurement and vendor activity, and drive improvements in automation and production systems within FDA/GMP environments.

Qualifications

• Senior level capital project engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary capital projects from scope through startup.
• Background in FDA-regulated food/beverage environments and GMPs.
• Proven vendor, contractor, and budget management skills.
• Basic AutoCAD proficiency; CMMS/EAM familiarity a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects from scope development to startup and closeout.

• Collaborate with plant leadership, FSQ, EHS, and finance on goals.
• Oversee equipment procurement, vendor oversight, and contracting.
• Support commissioning, validation, and startup activities.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safety throughout projects.
• Drive continuous improvement in automation, packaging, and utilities.
• Provide long-term capital planning support across sites.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead and execute capital projects from scope development through startup and closeout
• Manage capital investments across multiple manufacturing facilities
• Partner with plant leadership and corporate teams on project goals, budgets, and timelines
• Oversee equipment selection, procurement, vendor management, and contractor activities
• Support construction management, commissioning, startup, and validation activities
• Ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, food safety, EHS, and regulatory standards
• Troubleshoot technical and operational issues during project execution
• Support infrastructure assessments and long-term capital planning strategies
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, FSQ, EHS, Procurement, and Finance teams
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to automation, packaging, utilities, and production systems

Qualifications Needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
• Minimum 4+ years of capital project engineering experience within manufacturing environments
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary capital projects up to $10MM - $50MM
• Strong background in FDA-regulated food or beverage manufacturing environments
• Experience with GMPs, food safety standards, and EHS compliance
• Knowledge of utilities, facilities, infrastructure, and process engineering systems
• Basic AutoCAD proficiency required
• Experience managing vendors, contractors, and project timelines/budgets
• Proven ability to lead projects from concept through commissioning/startup
• CMMS or EAM experience preferred (Infor/Hexagon EAM highly preferred)
• PMP certification or PE license preferred
• Experience in aseptic or low-acid food manufacturing environments is highly preferred
