Job summary

Fidelity Investments in Merrimack, NH is seeking a seasoned Corporate Bond Trader to join our fixed income team onsite. You will partner with PMs, researchers and fellow traders to source opportunities and execute trades that enhance portfolio performance.

The role requires extensive experience in corporate bonds and credit derivatives, strong analytical and communication skills, and a collaborative, cross-functional mindset. Onsite work model is in effect in Merrimack.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years sell-side or buy-side experience trading corporate bonds and credit derivatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, or other relevant quantitative subject area.
  • Strong analytical ability along with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with PMs, research analysts and fellow traders to generate investment ideas that have positive impact on our investment performance.
  • Source investment opportunities and access liquidity in the marketplace.
  • Negotiate and execute trades on behalf of our portfolios.
  • Maintain strong dealer relationships (sales, trading, and syndicate).
  • Work with desk-dedicated quant research staff and contribute to the development of quantitative analytics.
  • Partner with technology, compliance, legal, operations, and other internal groups to provide best-in-class service and execution capabilities.

The taxable bond team consists of portfolio managers (PMs), research analysts and traders that work together to make informed investment decisions that benefit our shareholders. This role will directly support our corporate bond market strategies across different investment teams. Candidates for the position will possess exceptional corporate trading acumen, market knowledge, thought leadership, and communication skills.**The Value You Deliver*** Partner with PMs, research analysts and fellow traders to generate investment ideas that have positive impact on our investment performance.* Source investment opportunities and access liquidity in the marketplace. Negotiate and execute trades on behalf of our portfolios.* Maintain strong dealer relationships (sales, trading, and syndicate).* Work with desk-dedicated quant research staff and contribute to the development of relevant quantitative analytics and desk-specific solutions.* Partner with technology, compliance, legal, operations, and other internal groups to provide best-in-class service and execution capabilities to the portfolios.* Represent the trading desk in periodic team meetings, client engagements and other ad hoc forums.**The Expertise and Skills You Bring*** 10+ years sell-side or buy-side experience trading corporate bonds and credit derivatives.* Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, or other relevant quantitative subject area.* Strong analytical ability along with excellent communication skills.* Aptitude for using new technologies to enhance our workflow, trading systems, and advance a quantitative approach where applicable.* Must be team oriented.
