Job summary

Plastipak Packaging, Inc seeks an experienced in-house counsel in Michigan to join the Legal Department. You will draft and negotiate contracts, provide strategic legal advice, and support corporate governance, compliance, and transactional work for manufacturing operations.

The role requires a JD from an ABA-accredited school, active bar admission in Michigan or eligible, at least three years of experience, strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to collaborate across functions.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active member of the State Bar of Michigan or eligible for immediate admission.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, preferably with manufacturing transactions.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts and other legal documents.
• Provide general legal advice and research on corporate matters.
• Support governance, compliance, and M&A/transactions as directed by leadership.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation and transactional matters.
• Represent the company before courts, tribunals, or administrative bodies as needed.

Plastipak is a growing, multinational manufacturing company headquartered in the greater Detroit area is seeking an experienced attorney for an in-house counsel position within our corporate Legal Department.
