Mid-Level to Senior Corporate Associate – New York

Location: New York, NY

Practice Area: Corporate / M&A

Experience: 4+ years

Base Compensation: $215,000–$270,000+

Billable Target: 1,800 hours including 200 hours for networking, events, conferences etc.

A mid-sized New York law firm is seeking a Mid-Level to Senior Corporate Associate with 4+ years of M&A experience gained at a large or peer-level law firm to join its corporate practice.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in an active corporate transactional practice, with strong M&A experience as well as experience with credit agreements and equity and debt financings.

Candidates should have experience:

• Leading the drafting and negotiation of definitive and ancillary transaction documents
• Managing the deal process and client relationships
• Supervising junior associates and paralegals
• Handling the day-to-day demands and workflow requirements of a variety of M&A and financing-related matters for sophisticated clients

The successful candidate should be a self-starter with a solid understanding of the structural and corporate issues arising in M&A transactions, together with strong analytical skills.

Experience in venture capital, securities, joint ventures and entity structuring, including LLC operating agreements, would be a plus.

Experience involving licensed professions, commercial contracts, distribution agreements and franchising would also be advantageous.

Compensation

Salary will depend on class year and experience, assuming normal career progression. Indicative base salaries range from approximately $215,000 for 2022 class-year associates to $250,000 for 2020 class-year associates, with higher compensation available for more senior candidates.
